Add the fractions and simplify the answer 1/2 +2 /3
IrinaVladis [17]
What we are going to do is add \frac{1}{2} by \frac{2}{3}. The first thing we do is make common denominators for \frac{1}{2} and \frac{2}{3}:\frac{1*3}{2*3}= \frac{3}{6} \ and \ \frac{2*2}{3*2}= \frac{4}{6}. Now we add \frac{3}{6} by \frac{4}{6}: \frac{3}{6}+ \frac{4}{6}= \frac{7}{6}. Now we make \frac{7}{6} a mixed number:\frac{7}{6}=1 \frac{1}{6}. Therefore, your answer is \boxed{\boxed{1 \frac{1}{6}}}. Hoped I helped. :)

If y=27 when x= 8 find y when x =11
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

37 1/8

Step-by-step explanation:

The problem probably assumes direct variation

y=kx

IF so, then plug in the values and solve for k

27=k(8)

k = 27/8

y= (27/8)x.  Now let x = 11

y = (27/8)11 = 27(11)/8 = 37.125 = 37 1/8

y = 37 1/8

the problem is making some assumption about the relation between x and y.  The simplest assumption that's likely is direct variation,  that x and y are linearly related.  The graph is a straight line through the origin with slope = 27/8

The distance s that an object falls is directly proportional to the square of the time t of the fall. If an object falls 16 feet
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer: if S is the distance, the fact that the distance is proportional to the square of the time means that S(t) = a*t^{2} where a is a constant of proportionality, with units of \frac{feet}{s^{2} }.

We know that S(1) = 16 feet = a*1, then a = 16\frac{feet}{s^{2} }

then S(2) = 16*4 feet = 64.

and if we want to know in how much time te objet will fall 400feet, then S(t₀) = 400 feet = 16*t₀^{2}

so t₀ = \sqrt{400/16} = 5s.

Determine any data values that are missing from the table, assuming that the data represent a linear function.
posledela

Answer:

  • d. Missing x:11 Missing y:19

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>It can be determined that the function is:</u>

  • y = 0.5x + 12.5

<u>So missing x is:</u>

  • 18 = 0.5x + 12.5 ⇒ 0.5x = 5.5 ⇒ x = 11

<u>Missing y is:</u>

  • y = 13*0.5 + 12.5 = 19

<u>Missing numbers are:</u>

  • x= 11 and y = 19

Correct choice is d.
