After reading S.E. Hinton’s novel The Outsiders, identify two characters who defy, reveal, or demonstrate that they are not like

the stereotype or characterization that is established for them at the beginning of the novel. You must first show evidence of how each character is stereotyped or labeled at the beginning of the novel and then, provide evidence of how he/she defies the stereotype or changes/transforms as the story progresses.

Jhonny is seen as a weak member of the group, but overcomes this label after dieing from saving the lives of the children stuck in the fire. Pony boy was supposed to be seen as a trouble maker due to him being a greaser however after also saveing the lives of the kids stuck in the fire he is seen as a hero as well.
