5 0

Solution:

As per the problem

A person is born every 5 seconds and a person dies every 12 seconds.

Here the LCD of 5 and 12 is 60.

The number of person born in 60 seconds=\frac{60}{5}=12\\

The Number of person died in 12 seconds=\frac{60}{12}=5

Hence Population increase in 60 seconds is=12-5=7\\

Hence time required to increase the population by one =\frac{60}{7} \ \ seconds\\

\cfrac{dr}{dx}=\cfrac{\underline{6x}+15\underline{-6x}+4}{(2x+5)^2}\implies \cfrac{dr}{dx}=\cfrac{19}{(2x+5)^2}

Simplify.<br> 4/x^2-35 - 1/x+5
Oksana_A [137]
If I understand your question well, I suppose you mean \frac{4}{ x^{2} -35} -  \frac{1}{x+5}
\frac{4}{ x^{2} -35} - \frac{1}{x+5} =  \frac{4}{(x+5)(x-7)}- \frac{1}{x+5} \\ = \frac{1}{x+5}( \frac{4}{x-7}-1) \\ = \frac{1}{x+5}( \frac{4}{x-7}- \frac{x-7}{x-7}) \\ = \frac{1}{x+5}( \frac{4-x+7}{x-7}) \\ = \frac{1}{x+5}( \frac{11-x}{x-7}) \\ = \frac{11-x}{ x^{2} -35}

Solve the equation. Write your answer as an integer or simplified fraction.
saw5 [17]

<u>Corrected question :</u>

Solve the equation. Write your answer as an integer or simplified fraction.

  • 8n - 7 (n - 2) = 18

<u>Required Solution :</u>

The given equation,

  • 8n - 7 (n - 2) = 18

★ Multiplying -7 into (n - 2),

>> 8n - 7 × (n - 2) = 18

>> 8n - 7n + 14 = 18

★ On substracting 7n from 8n we gets,

>> n + 14 = 18

★ Now transposing 14 which is in L.H.S. into R.H.S. (Remember that sign would be . So 14 would be -14),

>> n = 18 - 14

>> n = 14

★ Therefore,

  • Value of n is 14.
