As the empires were established mainly through trade, the limitation of trade led to a high rate of unemployment and need among citizens. moreover, this inflation led to the limitation of resources such as gold, silver and bronze, which diminished economic power and weakened the empire.

Assuming u are asking during the time after WW2. The US wished to help their Allies after the war also know as the Marshall Plan. This plan offered help and finances to European countries to help these countries rebuild after the War. The US also helped Japan because they were responsible for removing Japan's national infrastructure during the war. Also helping Japan also helped with treading, modernize industry, and it also helped prevent the spend of communism.
