Explain how either international hardwood agreements or selective logging can encourage the sustainable management of tropical r
Arturiano [62]

Explanation:

For example, considering the international hardwood agreements which took effect in the year 2006, we observe included in the agreements are some policies intended to encourage the sustainable management of tropical rainforest.

While selective logging on the other hand also encourages sustainable management of tropical rainforests. For example, trees are selectively cut down so as to still allow a healthy forest ecosystem. Also, continuous replanting occurs every time a tree is cut down.

Triangle RST has vertices located at R (2, 3), S (4, 4), and T (5, 0). Part A: Find the length of each side of the triangle. Sho
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

The length of the sides of the triangle are; √5, √17 and √18, the slopes are; (1/2), -4 and -1.

What are the lengths of the sides of the triangle?

According to coordinates of the vertices given; it follows that the length of each side can be evaluated as follows;

Side RS = √((4-2)² + (4-3)²) = √5

Side ST = √((5-4)² + (0-4)²) = √17

Side TR = √((5-2)² + (0-3)²) = √18

The slopes can be evaluated as;

Slope RS = (4-3)/(4-2) = 1/2

Slope ST = (0-4)/(5-4) = -4

Slope TR = (0-3)/(5-2) = -1.

Since, none of the lines are equal and the slopes do not indicate perpendicular lines, it follows the triangle RST is scalene.

Tension often arises between citizens' need for information and the government's need for secrecy on issues involving
cluponka [151]

The answer is National security because the citizens need to know that they are being protected, and usually also how they are being protected. But the government often needs so measure of secrecy in order to protect National Security. If the government were to tell citizens exactly how they were being protected and someone posted it onto the internet it would severely compromise that protection. However people do not generally seem to understand that and tensions become heated between the two groups. Both sides reasons are perfectly legitimate, but one outweighs the other by knowledge. The answer is B.
