Goodman Brown intends to resist the Devil and return to his wife after the meeting, but the Devil intends to divert him away from God. “Let us walk on, nevertheless, reasoning as we go, and if I convince thee not, thou shalt turn back. Exercise 2 Circle the participial phrase and draw an arrow to the noun or pronoun it modifies.
Art [367]

"(The sport) is growing" is the answer.

A participial phrase is what?

A participial phrase is an adjectival construction that combines a participle (past, present, or perfect) with other words such as nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases. Like adjectives, participles are used to modify nouns and their equivalents.

What is a noun?

In a sentence, a noun is a word that refers to a specific person, place, thing, or animal. Depending on the context, a noun may serve as a subject, direct object, indirect object, subject complement, object complement, appositive, adjective, or adverb. Many nouns in English do not take gender into account.

Rodriguez says that his parents “are no longer [his]
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

Richard Rodriguez is an American writer who became famous for his autobiography called Hunger of Memory: The Education of Richard Rodriguez. The autobiography especially sheds light on his intellectual development.

Rodriguez was born into a Mexican immigrant family in San Francisco, California. However, he grew up surrounded by a completely different, American, culture. In Hunger of Memory, he tells how being Mexican and a part of a socially disadvantaged family made him feel inferior to other children. However, he realizes and pays close attention to the fact that, despite being different and belonging to another ethnicity, he grew up to be an average American citizen. In this context, he tells that his parents are no longer his parents in a cultural sense. His parents grew up in a different country, in different circumstances. The culture they were surrounded by is not the same as the one he grew up with. His education, customs, and values are different from the ones of his parents. That's why he can't and refuses to claim that he has unbroken ties with the Mexican culture.
