Answer:

Farmers who owned their own mule and plow were at a higher stage, and were called tenant farmers: They paid the landowner less, usually only a third of each crop. ... Though the arrangement protected sharecroppers from the negative effects of a bad crop, many sharecroppers (both black and white) remained quite poor.

Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

Model tenements did not improve the lives of the poor, as they turned out to be poorly ventilated and have unsafe sanitary conditions.

Explanation:

Model tenements were built in the mid 19th century to provide housing for poor people. They were supposed to improve the living conditions of the poor. However, they turned out to be tiny apartments with little ventilation and unsanitary conditions. Modern tenements have improved living conditions, but they still lack modern equipment since some apartments have 100 year old kitchens and toilets.

What was the effect of the U.S. troops leaving south Vietnam
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

South Vietnam was reunited by force with North Vietnam and became a single communist nation.

Explanation:

The US had been supporting South Vietnam against the communist North Vietnam. Ultimately, US President Richard Nixon proposed drawing down US involvement in the war and seeking "peace with honor," as he put it.

Once the US forces withdrew (after a long, unsuccessful struggle), it was too late for the South Vietnamese to stave off the victory of the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces. The US withdrew its forces from Vietnam in 1973. By 1975, Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, fell to the North Vietnamese communist forces. South Vietnam unconditionally surrendered to North Vietnam on April 30, 1975. All of Vietnam became united under communist control.
