Because Mesopotamia was situated between two rivers, trade with other places was bountiful. As Mesopotamians interacted with people from forgin places, they adopted bits of their cultures. Also, culture was forced upon the inhabitants of Mesopotamia as well as invaders forced citizens to practice their culture.
