Answer:

From the passage, I can infer that:

The desert cities with increasing population experience drought due to low rainfall which causes problem to the populace.

Explicit detail from the passage: "The most obvious issue is the lack of water."

Implicit detail from the passage: "This population boom is hard on the desert environments of these cities."

Explanation:

An explicit detail gives a very clear and well understood detail. It is umabiguious and without vagueness. While an implicit detail does not give a very clear and direct detail. It is usually implied or assumed.

From the passage, we can see that lack of water is found in deserts. The detail is explicit and with facts.

But saying that the population boom is hard on the desert environments seem implied or the author's assumption.

Can someone help me write sentences for these patterns?
Oksana_A [137]

Explanation:

First, a quick recap:

Nonessential elements of a sentence are words, set of words (phrases) or clauses that can be left out of the sentence without altering its meaning, unlike the essential elements which have opposite feature.

Introductory phrase is a set of words that provides setting for a sentence.

So, for example, we could say:

A: William Shakespeare, famous writter, wrote many plays.

B: The dog that I found by the river hates swimming.

C: On monday morning, luckily, I found my keys.

D: I visited Paris, the capital of France.

Note that nonessential elements are always separated by commas.
