There are three chests, each of which contains 100 coins. One chest has 100 gold coins, one has 100 silver coins, and the third

has an equal split of 50 gold coins and 50 silver coins. Each chest is labelled, but all are mislabeled. You are allowed to pick one coin from just one of the cases, and after this, you must correctly identify each of the three chests. What should you do?

Answer:

I would choose a coin from the case containing half gold coins and half silver coins, because if you get a gold coin then you are going to know the chest only contains cold coins. From this we can deduce that the chest marked silver coins is really the 50/50, and the chest marked gold is really silver.  Step-by-step explanation:

The opposite angles of a quadrilateral inscribed in a circle adds up to 180°.

This means that angles A and C add up to 180°, so do angles B and D.

Therefore, (x - 10) + (x - 2) = 180°

2x - 12 = 180°

2x = 192°

x = 96°

Hence,

Angle A = 96° - 10° = 86°

Angle B = 180° - (96° + 2°) = 82°

Angle C = 96° - 2° = 94°

Angle D = 96° + 2° = 98°

Mr. Thompson drew a rectangle on the chalkboard with a length to width ratio of 5 to 2. He asked students to draw a rectangle wi
Ghella [55]

Answer:

15 centimeters

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of Mr. Thompson rectangle = length : width

= 5 : 2

Audrey plans to draw a rectangle with a width of 6 centimeters.

Ratio of Audrey rectangle = length : width

= x centimeters : 6 centimeters

Equate the two ratios to find the value of x

5 : 2 = x : 6

Cross product

5 * 6 = 2 * x

30 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2

x = 30 / 2

= 15

x = 15 centimeters

Audrey's rectangle should have a length of 15 centimeters
