1. 2

8,505 ÷ 315 = 27

2. 2 ÷ 5

Fractions are division problems so it would be 2 divided by 5

3. 9/9 or 1

Make them have the same denominator

2/3 + 3/9 = 6/9 + 3/9 = 9/9 = 1

4. 1 ½

4/8 simplified is ½ so you should do ½ x 3 = 1 ½

5. The baker needs 750 more grams

Multiply 2.5 by 1000, which is 2500

That’s how many grams the baker needs, now you need to do 2500 - 1750

Which is 750 grams

Sorry that this took a while, but I am happy to help you!!

Answer:

1) 27

2) 2/5

3) 1

4) 1.5 lbs

Step-by-step explanation:

1) First, 8505/315 = 27

2)I don't really have an explanation for this one-

3) 2/3 = 6/9. 6/9 + 3/9 = 1

4) 4/8 x 3 = 1.5

f(x) = 4x - x^2

1)

f(4) = 4(4) - 4^2 = 16 - 16 = 0

f(-4) = 4(-4) - (-4)^2 = -16 - 16 = -32

f(4) - f(-4) = 0 - (-32) = 32

2)

f(3/2) = 4(3/2) - (3/2)^2

f(3/2) = 6 - 9/4 = 15/4

√f(3/2) = √(15/4) = √15 / 2

3)

f(x + h) = 4(x + h) - (x + h)^2

= 4x + 4h -(x^2 + 2xh + h^2)

= 4x + 4h -x^2 - 2xh - h^2

f(x - h) = 4(x - h) - (x - h)^2

= 4x - 4h -(x^2 - 2xh + h^2)

= 4x - 4h -x^2 + 2xh - h^2

So

[f(x + h) -f(x - h) ] / 2h

= [4x + 4h -x^2 - 2xh - h^2 - ( 4x - 4h -x^2 + 2xh - h^2 )] / 2h

=( 4x + 4h -x^2 - 2xh - h^2 - 4x + 4h + x^2 - 2xh + h^2 ) / 2h

= (8h - 4xh) / 2h

= 2h(4 -2x) / 2h

= 4 - 2x

Answer: [f(x + h) -f(x - h) ] / 2h = 4 - 2x

The area of a square is 144cm2.what is the measurement of each side
Dmitry [639]

The area of a square is 144 cm^2. The measurement of each side is 12 cm

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, The area of a square is 144 cm^2

We have to find that what is the measurement of each side.

Now, we know that, area of a square = product of side value with another side value.

Let the side value of given square be "s"

Then, <em>Area of square is given as:</em>

\begin{array}{l}{\text {area of square}=s \times s} \\\\ {\text {Area of square}=s^{2}} \\\\ {144=s^{2}} \\\\ {s=\sqrt{144}} \\\\ {s=\sqrt{12^{2}}}\end{array}

On cancelling square root and square on right side,we get

s = 12

Hence, the side value of the square is 12 cm.

Jim drove 204 miles in 4 hours. If he can keep the same pace how long will it take him to drive 918 miles
SSSSS [86.1K]
18 hours.

Proportions and stuff.

\frac{204}{4} = \frac{918}{x}

Cross multiply,

204x = 918 * 4

204x = 3672
/204      /204
x = 18

18 hours.
