Naya [18.7K]

The discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) is one of the major scientific breakthroughs in recent years and has revolutionized the way we look at gene regulation.

What is MicroRNAs ?

microRNA is the name of a family of molecules that helps cells control the kinds and amounts of proteins they make

 • That is, cells use microRNA to help control gene expression. Molecules of microRNA are found in cells and in the bloodstream.

 • The miRNA functions as a guide by base-pairing with target mRNA to negatively regulate its expression.

If an 1800-kcalorie diet contains 100 grams of fat, the percentage of kcal from the fat is: a. 20 %. b. 35 %. c. 50 %. d. 65 %.
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

It should be about 5.4% which adds up to about 100.8 calories. None of these answer options appear to be consistent with that

Explanation:

1,800*0.20=360 kcals

1,800*0.35=630 kcals

Anything higher than those values is much too high for fat intake.

O Periodontist
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

Post-operative sensitivity and damage to the pulp

Explanation:

Protective bases are applied to the pulp during the process of dental operations. These protective bases are usually applied in a thickened manner. This helps to prevent post operative sensitivity to substances such as cold sensations. The pulp is also protected as a result of the application of protective bases.

This makes Protective bases being placed when it is necessary to protect the pulp before the restoration is placed in order to prevent Post-operative sensitivity and damage to the pulp valid.

Why do you think that Arjun must continue to take antibiotics for five weeks following his release from the hospital
3241004551 [841]

TLDR: Antibiotics must be taken several weeks to fully kill the bacteria. Else, surviving bacteria develops drug resistance.

Antibiotic prescription really depends on the patient's condition. Some conditions like major surgery or diseases that cause immunosuppression are more prone to bacterial infection, thus they must take antibiotics for prolonged periods of time to fight their current infections or prevent further infections.

Antibiotics, as a general rule, must be given 7 days or several weeks (depending on the bacteria/pathogen) to be sure that all the disease-causing bacteria are dead. If the drugs are taken only until symptoms fade, the surviving bacteria (now fewer in number and not causing symptoms) will develop mutations that may help resist the previously-taken antibiotic, giving rise to drug resistance.

Thus, Arjun must take the antibiotics for several weeks more (according to the doctor's orders, of course) to kill all remaining bacteria and also to prevent bacterial drug resistance. Which is really problematic, since we're slowly losing our number of effective antibiotics.
