1.a. The fundamental units are the base units defined by International System of Units. These units are not derived from any other unit, therefore they are called fundamental units. examples are; the meter, kilogram, and second are fundamental units of the SI system.

3.a. Take a metallic ball and ring. the diameters of the ring and the ball are such that is just able to pass through the ring at the room temperature. now heat the ball and try to pass the ball through the ring.

2.a. Simple machines are useful because they reduce effort or extend the ability of people to perform tasks beyond their normal capabilities. Simple machines that are widely used include the wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, screw, wedge and lever. The important are; The wheel is considered to be one of the most significant inventions in the history of the world.

2.b. Heat is a measure of change, never a property possessed by an object or system. Therefore, it is classified as a process variable. Temperatures describes the average kinetic energy of molecules within a material or system and is measured in Celsius (°C), Kelvin (°K) or Rankine ( R)

a. Shadows are formed when an opaque object or material is placed in the path of rays light. The opaque material doesn't let the light pass through it. The light rays that go past the edges of the material make an outline for the shadow.
