Lucy lives near a small pond. Lucy is studying the spread of the invasive plant called purple loosestrife near the pond. Every m
onth for the past two years, she has counted the number of loosestrife plants near the pond. She has also counted the number of other plants, such as cattails, found at the pond over the years. What question can Lucy answer using the data she has collected? A. Do ducks like to nest in loosestrife plants more than in cattail plants? B. What is the best temperature for growing loosestrife plants and cattail plants? C. Has the number of cattails gone down as the number of loosestrife plants has gone up? D. Do songbirds eat the seeds produced by the loosestrife plants?
Interpretative dance is always good. Its easy and if its done well it can be a good idea. One boy in my class did interpretive dance for a biology presentation. It was great!!!
The transit method is a method that is used to detect the star or a planet system and has orbits aligned to each other and the planet travel between the planets and the star and it temporarily blocks some of the light each time in orbit.
And this dimming of the light can help us identify the size of the planet as a star will create slight dimming light while a large planet will have a noticeable effect. And this method can be used to calculate the planets density and composition and mass.
The primary transit is when the planet passes in front of the star and the secondary transits are when it completely disappears behind the planet while the brightness dimes more in at the third and second time the star passes by.
