Answer: D. the value of error between a sample statistic and an actual population parameter

Step-by-step explanation:

In a study , the margin of error gives the amount of the random variation of the actual result from its estimation.

So, it is the value of error between a sample statistic( which is estimated population parameter until actual is known) and an actual population parameter.

Hence, the best statement to represent the margin of error :

D. the value of error between a sample statistic and an actual population parameter

Solve the quadratic equation by using a graphic approach. Round your answer to the hundredths place,
NeX [460]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, I really don’t like graphic approaches in math, so hear ya go a formula:

Although there are easier ways that work for some quadratics, but this formula works for them all. (It is atached, have a look)

So,

( -(-2)+- square root of ((-2)^2-4(1)(-40)) ) / 2(1)

Note that for a hear I use one, since there is nothing in front of x.

( 2 + (12.8) ) / 2 < with plus

( 2 -(12.8) ) / 2 < with minus

X = 7.4

Or

X = -5.4

4. You have five people who are your friends on a certain social network. You are related to two of the people, but you do not r
dem82 [27]

Answer:

the probability of inviting both relatives to the meeting = 1/10

Step-by-step explanation:

There are total two invitations that I will send, hence two selections.

For the first selection, I have 5 people total and two of them relatives.

Hence, the probability of inviting relative in first choice is 2/5.

Now assuming that we have invited one relative out of 5 people,

we are left with only 4 people out of which one is relative.

So, probability of inviting relative in second choice is 1/4.

So the probability of inviting both the relatives is (2/5)*(1/4) = 1/10

Through (2,-2) parallel to y= -1/2x+5
Rzqust [24]

The equation of line passing through (2, -2) and parallel to y = \frac{-1}{2}x+5 is y = \frac{-x}{2}-1

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

We have to find the equation of line passing through (2, -2) and parallel to y = \frac{-1}{2}x+5

<em><u>The equation of line in slope intercept form is given as:</u></em>

y = mx + c  ------- eqn 1

Where "m" is the slope of line and "c" is the y-intercept

On comparing the given equation of line y = \frac{-1}{2}x+5 with eqn 1,

m = \frac{-1}{2}

We know that slope of a line and slope of line parallel to it is always equal

Therefore, slope of line parallel to given line is also m = \frac{-1}{2}

Substitute (x, y) = (2, -2) and m = \frac{-1}{2} in eqn 1

-2=\frac{-1}{2}(2)+c\\\\-2 = -1+c\\\\c = -2+1\\\\c = -1

Substitute c = -1 and m = \frac{-1}{2} in eqn 1

y = \frac{-1}{2}x -1\\\\y = \frac{-x}{2}-1

Thus equation of line parallel to given line is found

How to solve 6=x+2/3
Dafna11 [192]
6 = x + 2/3

We're simply just trying to get "x" isolated.

So, we must subtract 2/3 from both sides.

6 - 2/3 = x

Simplify.

Turn 6 into an improper fraction.

6 is now 18/3 :)

So, our new problem looks like this :

18/3 - 2/3 = x

Simplify.

16/3 = x

Turn 16/3 into a mixed fraction.

How many times does 3 go into 16? 5 times! :)

So, we do this :

3 × 5 = 15

16 - 15 = 1

So, x = 5 1/3

~Hope I helped!~
