Track teaches you to be able to achieve your best speed in one of the quickest ways possible. The activity supports the skill because the more mitochondria you have, the more energy you are able to produce during exercise, which will enable you to run with greater speeds. If track is done regularly, it increases the size of the mitochondria. Giving you more energy, which will generate more speed. ( Hope this helps! (: )
