Geckos are small to average-sized lizards which are found in warm climates all over the world. They are unique among lizards bec

ause of the way they sound. They make chirping sounds to communicate with other geckos. The name gecko comes from the Indonesian word gekok which imitates the sound of their chirps. Many species of gecko have special toe pads which enable them to climb smooth surfaces easily, even indoor ceilings. In some parts of the world, geckos are commonly allowed to live indoors because they eat insects and other pests. There are 1,196 different species of geckos! Here are just a few: Leopard gecko: Leopard geckos are commonly kept as pets. Unlike most geckos, they have claws rather than tow pads and cannot climb the grass of their terrariums. Ptychozoon: Native to southeast Asia, these tree-dwellers are known as Flying or Parachute geckos. They have wing-like flaps from their neck to upper legs which help them provide lift when jumping. Crocodile gecko: Known as crocodile geckos because of their spiky skin, these geckos are heavy and large (up to 6 inches long). They are found in Mediterranean regions. Top right, This Gold-Dust Day gecko is just one of the 1,196 species of gecko.

in "Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata," what is the author,s main challenge in telling the story of the Beethoven composition?
bekas [8.4K]
The answer is that the author has to bring to life a musical composition with only words.
Beethoven was a famous composer who had multiple works of art glossing mainly over piano, and orchestra. Explaining a piece of music to others, with only words would be, in other words. . . hard.

Hope this helps!!!

Why is it helpful to set a purpose for reading?
makvit [3.9K]
From my my experience this usually differs depending on the type of book it is, but I think the best choice is either A, to help the reader understand new concepts, or C., It allows the reader to focus on key ideas and information during the reading. I'd pick C though, since it's more in depth and makes more sense.

B. doesn't make that much sense unless the book is an argumentative or a persuasive book.

D. only applies to personal narratives. Nobody can understand a writer's personal experiences and attitudes otherwise.
