By find how high the water would be after 20 seconds, you would find out much height is increasing each second.

21 - 4 = 7

28 - 21 = 7

35 - 35 = 7, and so forth.

So, we know that 7 cm is increasing each second. You would just add 7 to the height for each second.

2 --> 14

3 --> 21

4 --> 28

5 --> 35

6 --> 42

7 --> 49

8 --> 56

9 --> 63

10 --> 70

11 --> 77

12 --> 84

13 --> 91

14 --> 98

15 --> 105

16 --> 112

17 --> 119

18 --> 126

19 --> 133

20 --> 140

Thus, after 20 seconds, the water's height would be c) 140 cm.

Answer:

answer C: 140 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

If the water rises 14cm in 2 seconds, 21cm in 3 seconds etc... Then the water rises at 7cm per second. Multiply this by 20 seconds and you get 140cm

VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

y = 10

x = 64

Step-by-step explanation:

the equations containing y are adjacent angles in a parallelogram, meaning that they are supplementary, so we can create an equation:

5y + 2 + 12y + 8 = 180

solve this to get y = 10

the equation for x would be 2x + 5y + 8 = 180 because these angles are also supplementary

solve this to get x = 64

A cone and a sphere both have a radius of 1. If you fill the cone with liquid, and pour it into the sphere, it fits exactly. Wha
PtichkaEL [24]

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

First, solve for the volume of the sphere, then solve for the height of the cone using the volume of the sphere (which is said to be equal to the volume of the cone) and the radius given.

<u>Volume formula of Sphere</u>

V = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^2

<u>Substitute 1 in for r</u>

\frac{4}{3} \pi (1)^2 = \frac{4}{3} \pi  = 4.189 = Volume

<u>Finding the Height of a Cone</u>

Volume formula for Cone: V = \pi r^2\frac{h}{3}

<u />

<u>Solve for </u><u><em>h</em></u>

Multiply both sides by 3, then divide by pi and r^2.

h = \frac{3V}{\pi r^2}

<u>Plug in the volume and the radius.</u>

h = \frac{3(4.189)}{\pi (1)^2}

<u>Simplify</u>

h = \frac{12.567}{\pi }

h ≈ 4

<u>4 is approximately the height.</u>

Plzz help me with this question
bixtya [17]

Answer:

x = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find the value of x in this case.

For this, we need to consider that the triangles are similar. Now, we can find it as follows :

\dfrac{12}{3}=\dfrac{20}{x}\\\\x=\dfrac{20\times 3}{12}\\\\x=5

So, the value of x is equal to 5.

2x(squared) + 23x-19=0
Helen [10]
Use quadratic formula

for ax^2+bx+c=0
x=\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}

given
2x^2+23x-19=0
a=2
b=23
c=-19

x=\frac{-23+/- \sqrt{23^2-4(2)(-19)} }{2(2)}
x=\frac{-23+/- \sqrt{529-152} }{4}
x=\frac{-23+/- \sqrt{377} }{4}

x=\frac{-23+ \sqrt{377} }{4} or \frac{-23- \sqrt{377} }{4}
