Describe the structure and function of haemoglobin (Hb). You should include a description of both tertiary and quaternary struct
Ugo [173]

Answer:

Heamoglobin is the structure present in red blood cells which is involved in carrying of oxygen from the blood to all parts of the body.

Explanation:

Tertiary Structure :  A molecule of heamoglobin consists of four groups of heme and a group of globulin.A molecule of heamoglobin contains four iron atoms to which oxygen molecules get attached. As there are four iron atoms in a molecule of heamoglobin so a single heamoglobin molecule can carry four oxygen atoms.

Quaternary structure: Multi sub unit globular proteins combine to make the Quaternary structure of heamoglobin. Alpha helices are made by the amino acids present in heamoglobin. Non helical segments, short in length, connect the alpha helices. The helical segments are stabilized by hydrogen bonds which results in folding of the polypeptide into the specific Quaternary shape.

 Function:

1.The basic function of heamoglobin is that it transfers oxygen from the lungs to different parts of the body.

2. CO2 ions and hydrogen ions are also transported by the heamoglobin.

Help me with number 1 2 3 4 plz
Semmy [17]

Answer:

1) Products of cellular respiration formed during the electron transport chain is water and Adenine tri phosphate (ATP).

2) Chemotrophs require inorganic compound and produce organic compound while phototrophs require solar radiation and produce organic compound.

3) The outer mitochondrial membrane is highly permeable while the inner mitochondrial membrane is less permeable.

4) Oxygen is the gas needed to drive cellular respiration to completion and it is generated during the process of photosynthesis.

Explanation:

Respiration is a process in which energy is released due to the breakdown of glucose molecules with the addition of oxygen forming carbondioxode, water and energy in the form of Adenine tri phosphate. Electron transport chain is the final stage of respiration in which ATP and water are produced.

With the addition of oxygen, respiration process complete quickly and more ATP is produced.

Which group consists only of renewable resources? Question options: carbon, sunlight, water, aluminum coal, trees, water, carbon
iragen [17]

phosphorus, soil, water, oxygen

Explanation:

Phosphorus, soil, water and oxygen are renewable resources that can be found freely on earth.

Renewable resources are natural resources that can easily be replenished as they are used either by natural means or through cyclic processes in our human life time.

  • Phosphorus, soil, water and oxygen are easily replenished by natural processes and through the biogeochemical cycle of materials.
  • Fossil fuels, trees are not renewable as they can easily be depleted.
  • Non-renewable resources must be used sustainably to ensure their all round availability.
