Which is an advantage the Internet has over other forms of media? It can aim at a specific audience. It is more environmentally
Bogdan [553]
All the first points you have written are true, but there is si much more you could say...
It can provide information quickly to large groups of people, and has allowed the world to become more connected; through businesses being able to communicate globally from HQ to factories or family members being able to skype or IM from one side of the world to another.
The internet brings us all together really, its interactive and lets people have their say, overall it's a worldwide community. Other forms of media simply don't have this to such an extent, and so thats what I guess makes the internet stand out!
Think about how you use the internet, whether it be social sites like facebook or twitter, or creative sites like pinterest or tumblr. You could also include these thoughts in your answer!

I hope this helped! Have a nice weekend :))

"he stood like a rock as they hurled insults at him," Is an example of which poetic device?
diamong [38]

Answer:

I believe the sentence is an example of simile.

Explanation:

A simile is a literary device which compares two different things. The purpose is to attribute the qualities of one to the other. In that sense, simile and metaphor are the same thing. What distinguishes them is that a simile will use the words "as" or "like" to establish the comparison, while the metaphor will not. For example, "your eyes are like stars" is a simile. On the other hand, "your eyes are stars" is a metaphor.

Thus, we can easily find the simile in the sentence we are analyzing here when the author says "he stood like a rock." He is comparing a person to a rock, probably with the purpose of saying that person stood there, unmoving - the same way a rock does not move.

refers to the choice of words with specific meanings, and connotations, that helps the author communicate his or her tone
Nina [5.8K]
This can be titled as either "word choice" or "diction". Both of these refer to how the author uses specific words, language, or slang to set the mood of their writing piece.
