Change is difficult because we often focus on negative aspects of change. Humans also fear change in fear of losing things they hold dear. Even if the change could be something like a job promotion, we are scared that we might lose something important in the process. Additionally, our amygdala is hardwired to perceive change as a threat, so we have a natural repulsion to it.
