For example, international trade organizations and immigration. Many international trade organizations were created in the wake of WW II which set the rules for capitalism's worldwide expansion. One of these organizations were the Group of Eight. The eight consisted of the United States, Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Japan, Canada, and Russia. They controlled the major international financial organizations. Some of the organizations include The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. (Page 1009) This is an example of globalization because these eight countries from all around the world are working together in these organizations. Immigration was made easier due to globalization. This is because if a family wanted to move into a new country across the world and the two countries already work together in trade or another organization is makes the move easier. The families bring their culture and items and move to America and likely started their own business to get financially stable. These businesses helped to relieve economic stress. "This extraordinary inflow of immigrants was the unintended result of the immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, one of the less well-known but most influential piece of Great Society legislation." There are both positive effects of globalization and negative. One positive would be the trading that is open to countries. Countries work together to help supply needs for the people. One negative is that the immigration of people into the United States was not greatly looked on by some. People enter without documentation and this causes issues when people disagree with this immigration process.
