Hello!!

Bread was very important to the French people, that at the time of the French Revolution in the late 1700's, the common Frenchman was advised to have eaten 3 pounds a day of bread.

Bread making in France as in most other areas of the world remained essentially a home-based use well into the Middle Ages.

Good luck :)

Select all of the following reasons that earned the Ottoman Empire the nickname the "Sick Man of Europe"
natka813 [3]

Reasons:

  • The Ottoman Empire had many ethnic tensions and nationalistic tendencies that weren't put down by the government, causing problems throughout the region.
  • The Ottoman Empire's government was dysfunctional, and constantly arguing over how to run the empire and its government.

Explanation:

When The Ottoman Empire started to crumble, <em>Tsar Nicholas I of Russia referred to the Empire as a "very sick man"</em> in 1853, after that the nickname of the Ottoman Empire spread through the entire world.

<em>The Ottoman Empire was facing a big diversity of ethnic and religious groups </em>that started forming their own countries and where not friendly with each other, and their army was not strong enough to control those groups. <em>The Ottoman Empire survived because France and Britain defended them so that Russia would not take over the Empire</em>, not because of their government who was not able to support their population.

In what ways do the Days of the Dead represent a synthesis of pre- Colombian and Spanish cultures
expeople1 [14]

<u>Answer:</u>

The Spanish people discovered that in the 16th century once they landed in central Mexico. Día de los Muertos (Days of the Dead) emerged in medieval Mesoamerica (Mexico and northern Central America), where native groups, such as Aztec, Maya and Toltec, had specific memories of their departed loved ones.

It was rejected by the people and the church as a day to syncrete pagan concepts with Catholic Christianity. Its etymology went back to good old-Columbian instances where people used to think that their soul could go to different spots if someone passed away, based on how the man died.

In an effort to "reform" the local people, the Spaniards mixed some of their values with those of the natives and even switched the representations of the gods with those of the Catholic apostles.
