They replanted forests, built trails, dug irrigation ditches and fought fire. This was important to the nation as it provided employment for the men which greatly impacted the nation economically and also kept the american people with and saved the country a great deal out and depression since jobs were important to men not only as a source of income but for the pride of their hard work.
