Which two words or phrases in this excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut's “Report on the Barnhouse Effect” portray Professor Barnhouse as

an exceptional person? There is an understandable tendency to look upon Professor Barnhouse as a supernatural visitation. The First Church of Barnhouse in Los Angeles has a congregation numbering in the thousands. He is godlike in neither appearance nor intellect. The man who disarms the world is single, shorter than the average American male, stout and averse to exercise. His I.Q. is 143, which is good but certainly not sensational. He is quite mortal, about to celebrate his fortieth birthday, and in good health.

Answer :

The following words or phrases in this excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut's “Report on the Barnhouse Effect” portray Professor Barnhouse as an exceptional person :

1. There is an understandable tendency to look upon Professor Barnhouse as a supernatural visitation.

2.The First Church of Barnhouse in Los Angeles has a congregation numbering in the thousands.

In Kurt Vonnegut's short story “Report on the Barnhouse Effect,” Professor Barnhouse is a psychology professor who has discovered the phenomenon of dynamopsychism. This phenomenon deals with knowledge of how the mental forces could be released and directed to perform tasks like rolling a dice to get fifty consecutive sevens and destroying military weapons. Professor Barnhouse has been referred to as a "supernatural visitation" and has a following of thousands of people because he chose not to reveal his knowledge to his government in order to prevent its misuse. He is in hiding and is using his knowledge for the benefit of mankind by destroying the military weapons, vehicles and ammunition of every country of the world to prevent the destruction and loss of lives caused by wars.

What is the theme of “Fire and Ice” by Robert Frost?
MrMuchimi

Answer:

Unchecked emotions are potentially destructive

Explanation:

Human passions and affections, of a positive or negative nature —that is to say, either desire or hate— are both powerful engines of one´s own life but also of humanity, history, and culture (of the world of the human being) in general. So powerful are they that they can, indeed, if unchecked, be the source of destruction and annihilation, be that through the fire of desire or through hate´s cold and grey matter.
