Answer: Arrival at Plymouth

Mayflower arrived in New England on November 11, 1620 after a voyage of 66 days. Although the Pilgrims had originally intended to settle near the Hudson River in New York, dangerous shoals and poor winds forced the ship to seek shelter at Cape Cod.

What might be used as an argument for transitioning the historical dating system to the use of B.C.E. and C.E.? A. Archaeologist
alexira [117]
The correct answer is B. Dating systems that are based on one religion do not include all peoples.

BC means Before Christ and AD means Anno Domini, or the year of our lord in English. BCE means before common era while CE means common era. Using the first method implies that all history of humankind has revolved around the notion of Jesus Christ which is not true and is a Christian way of observing things. Using the common era markings you can incorporate all of the world instead of just the Christian world.

In an event of an attack, each member of the treaty should 'should come to the assistance of the state or states attacked'. The reason for the Soviet Union to sign the Pact was to fight together with other satellite nations the spread of capitalism. The Soviet Union also wanted to maintain control over military forces in Eastern and Central Europe.

The main goal of this organisation is mutual defense of each member state in the event of an attack by an enemy country. The purpose is also to 'safeguard the freedom' of other nations, to spread freedom ' founded on the principles of democracy' and to promote ' the stability and well being' in the world.

The Warsaw Pact was a collective defense treaty among the Soviet Union and seven Soviet satellite states. The treaty was signed in Warsaw in 1955 in reaction to the integration of West Germany into NATO. The purpose of the pact was to counterweight the NATO and to offer joint assistance to every member state in case of an foreign attack. The member countries should 'consult with one another on all important international issues', also consult 'the threat of an armed attack,' in order to 'ensure joint defense'.
