This simply tells us how the human body response to states of a longer or intense stress and it is usually in three-stage.

The stages includes:

1. Alarm Reaction Stage

2. Resistance stage

3. Exhaustion Stage

Resistance stage

This is referred to as the second stage in GAS. In this stage, the human body is usually in a stable condition and returns to normal homeostasis. The neurotransmitters, cardiovascular system, and hormonal system also return to normal functioning level during this stage. The human body tries every possible means or attempt to withstand prolonged stress and preserve resources.
