Specialized proteins called cell cycle regulators, such as p53 and p21, regulate the progression of the cell cycle from one phas

e to the next. This progression through the checkpoints is strictly regulated and usually works without error. When errors do occur, they can have catastrophic consequences, including cancer. How did this study lend new evidence to our understanding of how genes regulate the cell cycle, giving us a better chance of developing successful cancer treatments

Answer:

The change in the genes p53 and p21 results in deficits in checkpoints that result in cancer of various types. The G2-HM checkpoint deficits can be exploited in the development of targeted treatment.

A mutation in the above normal functioning of p53 can lead to the progression of damaged cells to mitosis which leads to cancer. So therapeutics which target any of these checkpoints can lead to developing a treatment for cancer.

What major factors affected earth's changing climates?
Flura [38]
I just had this answer but it hasn't been graded. I put 1. Meteor impacts, 2. volcanic gases and 5. Milankovitch cycles. I didn't put earthquakes because I wouldn't think it would affect the climate changing since they just affect ground movement.

Chargaff's analysis of the relative base composition of DNA was significant because he was able to show that
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

C) The amount of A is always equivalent to T, and C to G

Explanation:

Chargaff's rule was given by the Austrian chemist, Erwin Chargaff in late 1940s. It explains the composition of the four bases i.e. Adenine(A),  Guanine(G), Thymine(T) and Cytosine(C) in a DNA molecule. According to it, purine and pyrimidine bases are always found in 1:1 ratio in a DNA molecule. A and G are purine and T and C are pyrimidine bases and a purine always forms a pair with pyrimidine base hence the amount of A will always be equal to T and amount of G will always be equal to C. This rule forms the basis for the Watson and Crick pairs in DNA double helix model.
