N the 1700s, James Watt caused a revolution in transportation by improving
tatuchka [14]

In the 1700s, James Watt caused a revolution in transportation by improving steam engine technology.

He was a Scottish inventor and mechanical engineer. He made improvements on Thomas Newcomen's steam engine that was patented in 1698 and widely in use at the time of Watt's birth ( 1736).

It all started when Watt was given a model Newcomen engine to repair. He realized it was very inefficient and he began to find ways to improve its performance. He designed a separating condensing chamber for the engine to avoid huge losses of steam. He patented his improvements in 1769.

A unit of measurement of electrical and mechanical power - the watt - is named in his honor.

Why was the United States so interested in the security of Latin America?
inessss [21]
The main reason why the United States was so interested in the security of Latin America is because the Latin American countries were so close to the US, meaning that if they were invaded by European powers it would post a threat to the US.

what could happen if someone refuse to answer questions asked by the house un American Activities Committee
hram777 [196]

Answer:

If someone refused to answer questions asked by the House Un-American Activities Committee, he could be accused of being a communist.

Explanation:

The House Un-American Activities Committee was active between 1934 and 1975. This committee, whose activities accelerated especially in the 1950s, investigated many American artists and intellectuals. In 1969, the name of the Committee was changed to "House Committee on Internal Security", and in 1975 it was ceased.

Many prominent artists such as Albert Einstein, Hanns Eisler, Orson Welles and Jules Dassin were investigated, suspected on being communists, or even worse, Soviet spies.
