Maggie’s Journal: Thursday, October 15th 1I can’t believe this. 2Today at the afternoon assembly, Principal Weinstein announced

that they’re switching Barry Junior High to a year-round school schedule starting next year! This edict is going to ruin everything. I am so angry, it’s like I can’t even see straight. 3I don’t want to go to school every day of the year! What about summer vacation? Summer vacation is a tradition. It’s been around practically since school was invented. The principal, school board, and state authorities are taking away our freedom. They want to work us to death and not let us have any fun, ever. Don’t they get it? We’re kids! Summertime is for going to the beach and hanging out with friends, not for doing homework assignments and taking tests. Well, I’m not going to do algebra while I’m putting on suntan lotion, that’s for sure. They’d rather have us work all the time, obviously. We’ll be going to school twice as much as we do now. 4Here’s the other reason I’m furious: I was going to get a summer job next year. Tavin’s sister told me that she could get me a position at Extreme Smoothie, and I could make at least $6 an hour. After three months of work, do you know how much money that would be? A lot. If Principal Weinstein switches us to a year-round schedule, I can’t ever have a summer job. 5Mom’s freaking out because I haven’t cleaned my room, so I have to go. The only thing I have left to say is this: I am NOT going to go to school 365 days a year. No way. I’ll move to another school district if I have to, and I don’t care if I have to take a bus an hour each way to get to class.
Which quote from “Maggie’s Journal” is contradicted by the information in “So Long, Summer Vacation”?
A “I’ll move to another school district if I have to.”
B “We’ll be going to school twice as much as we do now.”
C “Summer vacation is a tradition. It’s been around practically since school was invented.”
D “Tavin’s sister told me that she could get me a position at Extreme Smoothie, and I could make at least $6 an hour.”

What is Passive voice?

Passive voice creates a sentence in which the subject acquires an action. In contrast, the active voice produces a sentence in which the subject executes an action. Passive voice often produces unclear, less direct, wordy sentences, whereas active voice makes clearer, more concise sentences.

A passive voice construction exists as a grammatical voice construction that is discovered in many languages. In a clause with passive voice, the grammatical subject represents the theme or patient of the main verb – that exists, the person or thing that undergoes the action or maintains its state changed.

Was the truth not be told to you by her?

This exists an interrogative sentence.

The subject performing a specific action or verb reaches first in the SVO pattern's active voice.

The SVO pattern's passive voice provides the verb or action performed by the object to the subject that occurs first.

To move from active to passive voice in a sentence:

1. Insert the direct object of the active sentence into the subject position.

2. Insert the subject of the active sentence into a sentence that begins with the preposition by.

3. Change the main verb's form and integrate it with a version of the auxiliary verb be.

Which sentences contain a restrictive clause?
AleksAgata [21]
Restrictive clauses are essential for the meaning of a sentence and are never separated from the rest of the sentence using commas, unlike the nonrestrictive ones.

The sentences that contain a restrictive clause are 1 and 3.

Because in sentence 1, The writer stated "That we found in the shed".

Also in sentence 3, The writer stated "That I grew up in".

These are important to in order to understand the whole sentence and cannot be deleted.

In what way is grendel a modern day monster rather than a traditional historical monster?
Pani-rosa [81]
Grendel can be considered to be a modern-day monster primarily because there are so many human characteristics in him, and in the old days that wasn't the way in which monsters were portrayed. Here we can see that Grendel feels hatred towards the soldiers, that he is also afraid when he sees Beowulf, he isn't just a mindless monster lusting for blood, there is a reason behind him doing all the killings.

After reading this you would have got your answer :)

Hope this helps :)
