Because Paraquat only effective on the herbs not algae.

Explanation:

Paraquat did not cause the coral bleaching because the Paraquat is a herbicide which is used to kill herbs present in the field. Coral bleaching refers to the whitening of the coral due to the removal of algae. This bleaching only be done when the environment of corals are very hot. If we apply  Paraquat herbicide so there is no effect on the coral because the algae present inside corals are not killed by this herbicide.
