nata0808 [166]
Hey!

The internment camps were also known as relocation centers, once it was a kind of prison where people were locked for some reason. For example, during the World War II, a lot of Japanese people were relocated in these internment camps, because there was fear that the Japanese people that lived in US, would react to the US attacks in the war.
Hope this helps!

Why were Tang and Song cities considered “cultural centers of an international age?”
nata0808 [166]

During the rule of the Tang and Song dynasties, China was a wealthy, prosperous, and advanced country. The trade has been well developed between the East and the West, so there was constant contact between the different civilizations. The cities of China during these two dynasties were considered as cultural centers of an international age, and rightly so. Apart from being very well connected, these cities very beautiful, enormous, very well organized, economically and politically powerful, technologically and culturally advanced, all of which was making them superior in comparison to the other cities, as well as being an example of how a city should be and develop.

3. What led Gorbachev to establish his policies of perestroika and glasnost? What
Assoli18 [71]

Answer:

1. Mikhail Gorbachev was the man responsible for the changes that took place in the Soviet Union, changes that also led to its fall. Gorbachev established the policies of perestroika and glasnost, with the main purpose being to stabilize the economy that had downward trajectory, as well as make decentralization in order for the country to be easier for running. Despite the good intent, these policies were a big failure, and the Soviet Union crumbled instead of progressing.

2. The intended effects of the perestroika and glasnost policies were to make the country more democratic, get the economy back on track, decentralization for more efficient and easier running of the vast country. While the intentions were good, the real effects of it were devastating for the Soviet Union. There were numerous unintended effects from these policies, such as the gaining of power by the federal authorities, leading to their better organization, and eventual separation of the Soviet Union. The economy instead of recuperating, crumbled, with lot of people losing their jobs, the country going in bankruptcy, and the poverty being widespread.
