Answer:

What you got right:

0.5 - Possible

48 - Possible

-6 - Not possible

0 - Not possible

BUT....

3 is possible

Step-by-step explanation:

When we want to know the side lengths of a rectangle and we have possible choices, we want to look at if it's in the realm of possibility. That is, if it's physically possible. You have 5/6 correct, so I think you've done a good job so far. But what you got wrong was the statement that 3 is not possible.

3 is possible, because 24 is divisible by 3. The length would then be 8. So, what you should have put is that 3 is Possible.

(my comment on someone else's answer is incorrect, you only got one wrong, my bad)

Determine whether the ordered pair is a solution to the inequality. (-1, -1); y Greaterthanorequalto - x + 7 (5, 3); y > 3/4
Art [367]

Answer:

No and Yes.

Step-by-step explanation:

The inequation is y ≥-x+7 and the pair is (x,y)=(-1,-1). Then:

-1≥ -(-1)+7

-1 ≥ 1+7

-1 ≥ 8, but this is not true, so (-1,-1) is not a solution of y ≥-x+7.

On the other hand, the inequation is y>(3/4)x-5 and the pair is (5,3). Then:

3>(3/4)(5)-5

3>(15/4)-5

3> -5/4 and this is true, so (5,3) is a solution of y>(3/4)x-5.

Question 5 id points
NARA [144]

Probability of winning a grand prize is 1/10

Probability of winning a basic prize is 11/20

What is the probability of two independent events?

If A and B are two independent events, then P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B).

If Events A and B are independent, the probability that either Event A or Event B occurs is: P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B).

Solution:

P(A) = no. of A / total possibility

      = 4/10

P(B) = no. of 1's/total possibility

      = 3/12

     = 1/4

Now,

To win a grand prize you need an "A" and "1" .

∴ P(A and B) = P(A) × P(B)

                    = 4/10 × 1/4

         P(A and B) = 1/10

Now ,

To win a basic prize you need to spin an "A" or a "1"

∴ P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)

                  = 4/10 + 1/4 - 1/10

                  = 3/10 + 1/4

∴ P(A or B)= 11/20

LaTanya says that the growth factor of f(x) = 100(1.25) is 25%. What mistake did LaTanya make?
vladimir2022 [97]

Answer:

The first error consists in the multiplication of f (x) = 100 * (1.25), the value she mentions is incorrect since it is 125.

It would be a 125% increase really.

In order for LaTanya's phrase to have no error she had to mention that it was a 25% increase over the original amount, in this way, the phrase would make sense and be valid.
