Yes it would slow the process of gathering medical evidence for case by case studies but this can simply be fixed by asking the patient sir/mam would you mind if we used your info to help us gather more data on the following issue you have this is something that you would see heavily with something not well understood in the medical community for example the pandemic we are in now we are still learning about it and they do ask patients if they can use their info to figure out symptoms what steps we can take to provide for the patients etc. a big issue is that not every hospital/clinic sticks to the book when it comes to rules and regulations and that’s not just in the medical field you can find that almost in any profession.
