"I don't know you," the student said brusquely.
"Come on. He's not even a stranger," said another classmate as she strolled up.

Answer:

"Hey guys!" Chester exclaimed while jogging up to two students he recognized from his homeroom. "Do you guys have a spare amount of cash that I could borrow to take the bus home? I left my wallet in my locker and all the building doors are locked now."

"Chester, right?" Elena questioned while looking at Chester, a friendly smile on her face. "My name is Elena and this is Kenji. We were actually just talking about taking the bus home together! Would you like to come along?"

Chester nodded and had a shy smile on his face, knowing that he may have a chance at making a few friends here.
