The five (5) main elements of a plot include the following;

I. Introduction (Exposition): it marks the beginning of a play or story. This is where the characters, background, and setting used in a play are revealed.

II. Rising action: series of events in the play becomes complicated and the conflict is exposed or revealed; creating suspense, tension and drama in the mind of the audience or reader. Rising action is between the introduction and climax of a play.

III. Climax: it marks the turning point of events in a play or story.

IV. Falling action: the events in the play begins to fall in place while all loose ends come to a close.

V. Resolution: this is the part of a play in which all conflicts are resolved. This ultimately implies that, it marks the end of a play, as conflict between the protagonist and antagonist is resolved.
