Why would a historian researching early colonial government find the signatures on the Declaration of Independence useful? Check
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

1. They identify people who were important in colonial government.

2. They identify people who supported rebellion.

Explanation:

The signatures on the Declaration of Independence, the document that announced the formation of new states, obviously belonged to the people who were important in colonial government.

Since the Declaration listed about thirty colonial grievances against King George III and asserted, among other things, a right of revolution, the people who signed it supported rebellion and did not support absolute tyranny or side with the British.

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of watching a video compared to reading about the same topic. Which format do you prefe
Ivan

Answer:

There are several disadvantages and advantages to watching a video instead of reading.

Here are some of the disadvantages to watching a video instead of reading:

1) I don't know about anyone else in particular, but I have a harder time focusing on a video (like the narrator could say something about a scientist named Harry and before you know it I'm taking classes at Hogwarts).

2) It's harder to take notes off of videos because if you don't hear a sentence correctly you could find yourself writing an essay about trumpets instead of pathogens.

3) Sometimes, the videos are so insane that you don't want to pause them so that you can take notes (Dr. X, for instance).

Now, here are some advantages to watching a video instead of reading:

1) Sometimes, when you actually like the video, you won't even need to take notes. You'll just be so interested that your mind absorbs every little fact (like how I've basically memorized my Harry Potter books).

2) Depending on the subject, it is sometimes easier to understand what the narrators mean when you can see it for yourself.

3) Videos can help make you more interested in the subject and might actually engage your mind (although reading could do the same).

Now, we're back to advantages. So, here are some advantages of reading instead of watching a video:

1) It's easier to pick up on new vocabulary when you're reading.

2) Reading is a great way to expand your mind and really use your brain, instead of watching a mind-numbing video about Dr. X.

3) Sometimes, it's easier to memorize information when you're reading it and it is for sure easier to take notes when you're reading.

Now, here are some disadvantages of reading instead of watching a video:

1) Some kids have a disorder of some type that makes it harder for them to read, therefore it would be easier for them to watch a video.

2) You don't really have that visual image unless the book has pictures so you have to imagine what the subject that they're talking about would look like.

3) Sometimes the videos are more entertaining. And in those cases, it becomes harder to focus on the words that seem intent on swimming before your eyes.

I hope I didn't bore you too much with this beautiful list of advantages and disadvantages. I realize it doesn't sound very professional but today I needed a laugh and I definitely did get a kick out of writing this. (By the way, I got a good grade off of this so I hope you do, too. Everyone needs a little help sometimes.).
