increasing intracellular cAMP leads to smooth muscle relaxation by: Group of answer choices inhibiting IP3 channels, leading to

decreased Ca2 in the sarcoplasm and reduced contraction. Increasing the relative activity of MLCP, leading to a decrease in tension. Activating K channels, increasing K leaking out of the cell which hyperpolarizes it and decreases the likelihood of Ca2 entry. Lower levels of MLCK activity, leading to decreased contraction.

Answer:

1. Inhibiting IP3 channels, leading to decreased Ca2 in the sarcoplasm and reduced contraction.

2. Increasing the relative activity of MLCP, leading to a decrease in tension.

3. Activating K channels, increasing K leaking out of the cell which hyperpolarizes it and decreases the likelihood of Ca2 entry.

Explanation

In smooth muscle, cyclic AMP (cAMP) mediates relaxation because cAMP inhibits a specific kinase required for myosin light chain protein (MLCP) phosphorylation, thereby triggering contraction in the smooth muscles. It has been shown that cAMP inhibits 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3)-dependent calcium ions (Ca 2+) release by activation of the cGMP-dependent protein kinase (PKG). PKG proteins act to modulate Ca2+ oscillations by stimulating sarcoplasmic Ca2+-ATPase membrane proteins, increasing Ca2+ in the sarcoplasmic reticulum stores and Ca2+ efflux from the cells, and activate voltage-gated potassium (K) channels, thereby leading to membrane hyperpolarization and reducing Ca2+ entry through Ca2+ channels.

Water moves from — to —
denis-greek [22]

Answer: Water, in its many forms, moves all over the Earth. Water vapor moves with the air currents, falling as rain from the clouds. Frozen glaciers creep slowly down from polar regions, then recede as they warm and melt. Liquid water moves from rushing rivers to ocean currents or to groundwater.

The water, or hydrologic, cycle describes the pilgrimage of water as water molecules make their way from the Earth's surface to the atmosphere and back again, in some cases to below the surface. ... Earth's water continuously moves through the atmosphere, into and out of the oceans, over the land surface, and underground.

A(n) ____________ produces ____________ offspring than the environment can support, therefore only certain members survive and r
TEA [102]

Answer: population, more

Explanation:

Carrying capacity is the size of the population of species that an ecosystem can support in terms of providing essential resources for survival. When the population of the species exceeds the carrying capacity then the population experience decline in population.

An population which produces more number of offspring than the environment can actually support then this will lead to the decline in the population due to the increase in the population beyond the carrying capacity.
