ok, so we know that Amber earned $15.50 on saturday and then he spet $6.95 on a movie ticket. so now we need to subtract $6.95 from his orgininal amount which was $15.50.

so $15.50 - $6.95 = $8.55

and then it says that he borrowed money from his friend to purchase a snack and that he now owes $5.00 to his friend so we add the amount of money he had plus the money he now owes his friend.

so $8.55 + $5.00 = $13.55

so in conclution, simon lent amber $5.00 and in total, they paid $13.55 for the snacks.
