Answer:

$13.55

Step-by-step explanation:

ok, so we know that Amber earned $15.50 on saturday and then he spet $6.95 on a movie ticket. so now we need to subtract $6.95 from his orgininal amount which was $15.50.

so $15.50 - $6.95 = $8.55

and then it says that he borrowed money from his friend to purchase a snack and that he now owes $5.00 to his friend so we add the amount of money he had plus the money he now owes his friend.

so $8.55 + $5.00 = $13.55

so in conclution, simon lent amber $5.00 and in total, they paid $13.55 for the snacks.

Hope that helps :)

Answer:

4

Step-by-step explanation:

The lowest common denominator for 1/2 and 1/4 is also the lowest common multiple of 2 and 4. Since 4 is a multiple of 2, 4 itself is the lowest common multiple.

1/4 would remain, and 1/2 would be written as 2/4.

Given that the height of the triangle portion of the enclosure is 28 ft and the base is 22 ft, we can find the two outer sides' lengths using Pythagorean Theorem:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

The legs of the right triangle formed by the height, half the base, and one of the outer walls are 28 and 11. So:

28^2 + 11^2 = c^2

784 + 121 = c^2

c =  \sqrt{905}  or about 30.08 ft

This is the length of both linear sides of the enclosure.

Next, to find the bottom side's length, we need to figure out half of the circle's circumference. We know that:

C = 2 \pi r

So the other side's length is:

\frac{1}{2} (22) \pi =11 \pi

Or about 34.56 ft

The perimeter is:

2(30.08) + 34.56 = 94.72 ft

Next, to find the area of the triangle portion of the enclosure, we must use:

A =  \frac{1}{2}bh

\frac{1}{2} (22)(28) = 308 ft^2

The area of a circle is:

A =  \pi r^2

So the semi-circle portion of the enclosure has an area of:

\frac{1}{2}  \pi (11)^2 =  \frac{121 \pi }{2}

or about 190.07 ft^2

The total area of:

308 + 190.07 = 498.07 ft^2
