In ancient times, Cyrus the Great was the most important Emperor of Persia. In 559 BC he conquered many territories and expanded the Persian Empire. After him, Darius the Great kept on conquering and established a new capital for the Empire in Persepolis. After so many years of dominion and growth, this magnificent Empire came to an end after the loss of the Persians against Alexander the Great, in the Battle of Issus in 333 BC.
