Answer:

The selected stanza is part of the poem "Exile song" created by a Brazilian poet named Gonçalvez Dias.

<em>"My land has palm trees </em>

<em>Where the thrush sings. </em>

<em>The birds that sing here </em>

<em>Do not sing as they do there."</em>

<em />

Explanation:

The stanza shown above shows how the speaker exalts and misses his homeland, showing how the place where he is at the moment does not compare with his homeland, as it lacks beauty, poetry and musicality. This is evident when he uses the metaphor to show how the birds in his homeland are more musical and admirable, as well as the local vegetation.

This stanza gives me a feeling of belonging, a welcome that only my homeland can provide, which reflects a feeling of warmth and security. However, I also feel a sense of longing and sadness, which is what we feel in exile, that is, what we feel when we cannot be where we most want to be.
