Answer: Patagonia

Clarification:

Let's use the Process of Elimination for this problem.

The answer would obviously not be Atacama Desert. There are no lakes, rivers, streams or ponds - basically no water in the desert. Animals who live in the desert eat seeds or eat cactus to survive with because of the large scarcity. The answer is not Atacama Desert, so let's ignore that.

The answer is not Machu Picchu, because Machu Picchu is high above any bodies of water. It is up on some hills and mountains in Peru, so it is not near any water. We can remove Machu Picchu, and we have our reasoning.

The answer is not Brazilian highlands, and it is the same concept as the concept of Machu Picchu. Highlands are called highlands because they are high above the flat ground that most of us live on.

Using the Process of Elimination, we found out that our answer was Patagonia, because Patagonia has water, and ice near it. Our answer is option D, Patagonia.

Best of Luck!

mash [69]
