Which of the following sentences contains the best example of figurative language?
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

C. Her lips were as red as roses in the spring.

Explanation: Figurative language is phrasing that goes beyond the literal meaning of words to get a message or point across. Clearly, her lips were not red roses, but the author uses figurative language to bring an image into the mind of the reader. Hope this helps!

After reading The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, why could the reader consider Brutus the protagonist of the play?
Naya [18.7K]
I believe B is not the correct answer - C. Brutus' story is the focus of the play is.

A is definitely incorrect because both his story and his actions greatly impact the play - he is the one who decided to have Caesar murdered, after all. I don't think B is correct either - even though he did kill Caesar, he is not a classic villain. He is not evil, he did not kill him because he hated him, he killed him because it had to be done - he believed Caesar was on the path of becoming a tyrant. So he killed him to save Rome, which is not a villainous thing to do. D is also incorrect because Brutus is one of the main characters, if not the main character.<span />

Ron is writing an analytical essay on the play Romeo and Juliet. Why would he most likely benefit from seeing a live performance
ki77a [65]
The choices for this one are:

A) because he can write a review for the daily paper
B) because seeing a play is an enriching experience
C) because the visual elements of a play help communicate the theme and mood
D) because it is easier to comprehend the plot while watching a play

While seeing a play does enrich one's experience, it will specifically benefit Ron who is writing an analytical essay in such a way that it gives more life because of the visual elements present. These elements will then more accurately show the mood and theme of the play, encapsulating Ron in an immersive experience.

ANSWER: C) because the visual elements of a play help communicate the theme and mood
