Answer: 6.7

Explanation: all you need to do is find the area of each of the sides and then add them together.

1.3 x 1.1 = 1.43
0.8 x 1.1 = 0.88
1.3 x 0.8 = 1.04

Since there are 6 sides and we only found 3 we have to multiply them by 2 to make 6. Because the areas repeat.

1.43 x 2 = 2.86
0.88 x 2 = 1.76
1.04 x 2 = 2.08

Now you just need to add them together

2.86 + 1.76 + 2.08 = 6.7

A school class went on a field trip to see a magician perform there were 17 females 20 males in the class the magicians randomly
Westkost [7]

Answer:

P(B)= 17/20

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

The audience of the magic show is conformed by a total of 120 people, 52 of which are female and 68 are men.

Within the audience there is a school class of 37, of these students, 17 are female and 20 are male.

If a random member of the audience is selected as a volunteer:

Let "A" represent the event that "the selected volunteer is a student of the class"

And "B" the event that "the selected student is female"

You have to calculate the probability of the selected volunteer being female, given that it is a member of the school class.

Symbolically:

P(B|A)

Using the formula of conditional probabilities you can calculate it as:

P(B|A)= \frac{P(AnB)}{P(A)}

P(A∩B)= P(A)*P(B)= (\frac{37}{120} )*(\frac{17}{20} )= \frac{629}{2400}= 0.26

P(A)= \frac{37}{120} = 0.308

P(B|A)= \frac{P(AnB)}{P(A)}= \frac{629/2400}{37/120} = \frac{17}{20} = 0.85

As you can see the probability of the event "The volunteer is female given that it was a student of the school class" means that you already know the selected volunteer was a student and only needed to calculate the probability of that student being female.

P(B)= 17/20

I hope this helps!

For women aged 18-24, systolic blood pressures are normally distributed with a mean of 114.8 mm Hg and a standard deviation of
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

0.0579 is the probability that mean systolic blood pressure is between 119 and 122 mm Hg for the sample.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 114.8 mm Hg

Standard Deviation, σ = 13.1 mm Hg

Sample size = 23

We are given that the distribution of systolic blood pressures is a bell shaped distribution that is a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

Standard error due to sampling:

\displaystyle\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}} = \frac{13.1}{\sqrt{23}} = 2.731

P(blood pressure is between 119 and 122 mm Hg)

P(119 \leq x \leq 122) = P(\displaystyle\frac{119 - 114.8}{2.731} \leq z \leq \displaystyle\frac{122-114.8}{2.731}) = P(1.537 \leq z \leq 2.636)\\\\= P(z \leq 2.636) - P(z < 1.537)\\= 0.9958 - 0.9379 = 0.0579= 5.79\%

P(119 \leq x \leq 122) = 5.79\%

0.0579 is the probability that mean systolic blood pressure is between 119 and 122 mm Hg for the sample.

Solve for the indicated variable 3x - y = 10; y
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

y = 3x - 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Starting with 3x - y = 10, add y to both sides:

3x = 10 + y

Then subtract 10 from both sides:

3x - 10 = y

If you switch the sides of the equation, it can also be written as:

y = 3x - 10

Two gongs strike at intervals of 24 and 40minutes respectively. At twist time will they strike together again if they start simu
solmaris [256]

Answer:

They will sound together at 2pm

Step-by-step explanation:

Now, the first thing we need to calculate is , in how many minutes will the two gongs strike together.

To be able to do this, we need to calculate the least common multiple of the two numbers 24 and 40

The lowest common multiple between both is 120

This means that the two gongs will sound together at exactly 120 minutes

Now since 1 hour is 60 minutes, this means that 120 minutes will be = 120/60 = 2 hours

Since they both sounded together at 12 noon and the next time they will be sounding is next two hours, their sounding time will thus be 12 noon + 2 hours = 2 pm
