The cultural historian will most likely recollect stories about the personal experiences of being unemployed during the Great Depression first-hand from the people he meets. On the other hand, the economic historian that creates a table based on unemployment data from the Depression, will not be in contact with the personal experiences of the unemployed people from that time, as he is studying with hard facts like statistics instead.
