I think that it just depends on the person honestly. But I think that tv is the better option since it has both,  visuals and its easier engage in, therefor its more appealing than the other for some people.

I think it likely differs from person to person. Overall, only the people who are genuinely interested in the news are going to make an actuve effort to watch/read it and those people will likely use both. I believe that you should say that tv is more appealing since it both provides visuals and takes less effort to engage in.
