Mathematics

The 2 sets of angle segments are congruent, which means basically they are the same.
therefore angle q should be 94°, as it is given by the congruent angle on the left.
there is a law that add the adjacent angles, which means angle next to each other on a straight line are equal to 180°, therefore we can calculate angle p by subtracting 180° by 94 and 68
therefore p is 18°

p=18°
q=94°

Which equation can be used to find B in the triangle below?
WINSTONCH [101]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

 (b) tan B = 8/6

Step-by-step explanation:

The mnemonic SOH CAH TOA is intended to remind you of the relevant relationships:

 Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse

 Tan = Opposite/Adjacent

Then angle B is involved in tangent and cosine relationships this way:

 tan B = 8/6 . . . . . . matches 2nd choice

 cos B = 6/10 . . . . . matches no choices

_____

Additional comment

Both of the offered cosine choices give a cosine value that is greater than 1. The cosine of a real angle is never greater than 1, so those can be rejected immediately.

Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

both Jenna and Mia got the same answer because the answer they got is correct but they used their own techniques to reach for the answer.

Mia's steps are time efficient enough by shortening the length of the sum and jumping steps...

Jenna is also correct in her own way, she wrote the full steps and explanation of the answer stepwise which is time consuming but cannot be wrong at the end throughout the steps. Even if she gets wrong she can quickly find the place of the mistake.
