1).What was the purpose of the Monroe DOctrine?
IgorLugansk [536]
1) To warn European Powers not to get involved with the affairs of the Western Hemisphere. That the Western Hemisphere would not further be colonized by Europeans, and the U.S. would leave existing Colonies alone; not involved in their International affairs or wars.
2) President James Monroe wanted to make sure that Europe did not take Spain's colonies, as many were on the verge of their own independence. Prussia, Austria, and Russia had formed the Holy Alliance with the goal of defending monarchical government. It was a precaution really.
3) The United States was prosperous, as we no longer had to worry about wars, we could focus on trade to gain a better economy. Also the Europeans benefited from the fact that they could not stand another war and win, due to previous wars which had left them disorganized and slowly building back the economy.

How does Coffin’s status as an abolitionist affect his portrayal of Garner’s story and his overall purpose in the text?
Ganezh [65]

According to a different source, this question refers to the text "Margaret Garner: Defying the Fugitive Slave Act" by Levi Coffin.

In this text, we learn about a woman names Margaret Garner who was a slave in Kentucky, but managed to escape. Upon being recaptured, she killed two of her children, preferring death to allowing them to become slaves.

Coffin's narrative shows that he is an abolitionist, and that he is inclined to support the decision of Garner. He describes her story as a heroic and painful one, and argues that only people who have experienced such level of sorrow are able to imagine the pain that Margaret had to endure. The purpose of the text is to show how unimaginable slavery is, and how it can lead people to commit the most desperate acts.

Drupady [299]

Answer: very specific is a labyrith-like architecture. Minoan culture was pre-Greek culture situated in Crete (Mediterranean) and Aegean islands with probable influences of ancient Egypt. What is also typical is what "linear writing" (specificly Minoean hieroglyphs). We are not sure what or who is responsible for the end of this culture because it disappeared quite suddenly. All these facts are very specific and unique of Minoan culture/civilization.

Name 3 way the ww1 had became a global war
Olin [163]
Three ways WW1 went from being a localized European conflict to a global one:

The declaration of war by Britain in 1914 brought the Commonwealth into the war involving far-away countries like Canada and Australia and India.

One method used by the Germans to defeat Britain was sea blockade; by the German High Seas Fleet at the beginning of the war then with submarines later... this was counters by the British Home Fleet based at Scapa Flow. By trying to cut off goods being sent to Britain the war was fought at sea also in the Channel and in the Atlantic.

Neutral countries like the USA joining later in the war in 1917 make WW1 an even bigger global conflict.

A forth way is how the British, French and Germans all had colonies in Africa - and fought each other there also.
