Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

we can conclude from the second equation that when

2x + y = 6 then y = 6 - 2x. so instead of y in the first equation we use 6 - 2x.

now the equation would look like this : 6 - 2x = x^2 - 4x + 3 .

then we bring everything to one side of the equation : x^2 - 2x - 3 .

now we'll have two results for x ( because x^2 - 2x - 3 = 0 has 2 answers )

one of them is -1 and other one is 3.

if we put them in the first equation we will have 8 and 0 for y.

so A is the answer

A chemist heats up several unknown substances to determine their boiling point. Use the table to determine whether the sequence
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Since the difference between consecutive terms is not constant, the sequence is not arithmetic.

In an arithmetic sequence, the difference between consecutive terms is constant, called common difference d.

A recursive formula is given by:

a_{n+1} = a_{n} + d

In which a_1 is the first term.

In this problem:

 • The terms are: 100, 135, 149, 165, 188.
 • 135 - 100 = 35, 149 - 135 = 14, that is, the differences are not constant, so this is not an arithmetic sequence.

What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to the line shown
34kurt
Use the slope formula

(y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

Let (0,2) = (x₁, y₁)
Let (3,0) = (x₂, y₂)

Plug into corresponding variables

(0 - 2)/(3 - 0) = -2/3

-2/3 is the slope of the line given

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To find the perpendicular line, flip the slope around and change the sign.

-2/3 becomes 3/2

The perpendicular line's slope is 3/2

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
