Discuss the principal characteristics of Rococo art and architecture and reference a work of painting, sculpture, and architectu
mixer [17]

Answer:

Rococo ("Louis XV style") is the name for 18th century French art and interior design. It's characteristic is a tame baroque style with softer lines, lighter colors and less offensive decoration.

Style has expanded beyond architecture and furniture into painting and sculpture, as can be seen in the works of Antoine Watteau and François Boucher. Architects often cloaked their interiors with fluffy stucco dresses. In Italy, the late-Baroque styles of Francesco Borromini and Camilla-Guarino Guarini set a rococo tone in Turin, Venice, Naples and Sicily.

The spirit and fresh breath of rococo are best felt in the paintings of Antoine Watteau (1684-1721), which literally depicts rich and spoiled nobility, most often young men and girls at carefree house games or hanging garden parties where characters move in misty fairy tale, water love, listen to music, or just enjoy yourself (eg. Ball pleasure - 1719).

Explanation:

Rococo occurs around 1720 in France and in about fifty years, spreads throughout Germany and other European countries. The word rococo is a combination of the French word rocaille (merry decoration of caves with irregular stones and shells) and barocco (baroque or pearl of irregular shape).

Abundance in rococo loses weight, the ornament becomes organic, light and breathable, the pastel technique is frequently used, so-called. "women's art" (Women Artists) and overcomes the child's spirit of fun. The elegant furniture made by the French masters shows a desire to live comfortably, civilly and privately.

Rococo retained the baroque taste of complex shapes and intricate patterns, but then began to incorporate various other features, including a preference for oriental design and asymmetrical compositions.
